Put simply, baby teeth matter.  Baby teeth play an essential role in helping a child learn to eat and speak properly.  They also prepare the way for adult teeth. But as soon as baby teeth emerge they’re at risk of decay so it’s really important that parents and caregivers take care of a child’s teeth.

The Australian Dental Association recommends your child’s first dental visit is within six months of the eruption of their first tooth, or by their first birthday.

Helping your child learn good dental hygiene habits is easy – and can be great fun too!  Children love to copy their parents, providing an excellent opportunity to teach brushing skills that will promote a lifetime of good dental health.
